Blimp Flying

Thanks to the nice people at Imagine Inflatables, we are going to be flying a blimp on Sunday 5th July at a height of 125m, equivalent to the height of the tips of the turbine blades



The idea behind flying the blimp is twofold.

Firstly, in doing so, we want to provide a real, visual, irrefutable demonstration of just how big these turbines will be. They are much bigger than Big Ben, the Tinsley Cooling Towers and the turbines at Burton Latimer on the A14

The second reason to do this is so that we can take pictures of them from various points around the area and use these in our presentation to Harborough District Council. Broadview's own photomontages are disingenuous - they do not show what the turbines will look like (you need a magnifying glass to see their viewing instructions and if you don't follow the viewing instructions, you won't get a true representation).

We ask for as many volunteers as possible to go out and take pictures of the blimp on the day. Please send your pictures to us either by email or on CD at our postal address:

Broadview have finally gone and done it!

Gilmorton Village Ballot Result In

Villagers in Gilmorton turned out in significant numbers to vote overwhelmingly against the Wind Farm at Low Spinney. 88% of the votes cast were in opposition to Broadview's plans.

Planning Officers Report Now Available

The planning officers at Harborough District Council have published their report. This will be used by members of the planning committee to inform their decision

Bus Times Now Available

AWFALS have organised a bus to take concerned residents to the planning hearing at HDC on Tuesday

Planning Committee Decide to Reject

The Planning Committee voted to reject the application submitted by Broadview. But this is FAR from being all good news.
